Ayólidd are small feathered mammals native to the Náhuinn forests. Although they are peaceful and even timid, predators tend to leave them alone for their ability to roll up in a feathered, armored ball of near-impervious scales and fluffy feathers that can choke the throats of would-be attackers. Náhuinn explorers and nobles like to keep ayólod pets, and it’s not uncommon to see a rolling ball of feathers following an ocelinn dignitary or even a Xibac wizard.
