Chih of the Conch became a captain of screechers after losing her voice in battle, which crippled her high-pitched scream in bat form. Refusing to retire, she had her regiment’s weavers enchant a special ayo conch flute for her. Attached to Chih’s throat, the ayo conch amplifies her damaged voice to frightful levels. While her echolocation is no longer as accurate as it used to be, Chih’s screech attack is the loudest in the army.
